This is an alien bug we affectionately called Doug, that I created for a film called "The Perfect Planet". I was hired to create the creature from the ground up. They had "napkin" sketches that they wanted the thing to roughly resemble, but otherwise all the work is mine. I created the model and did the texturing, as well as the hairs that lined the legs, though they're not visible here. I created the rig and all of the controllers and morph targets and then animated it for all of the VFX sequences. There were 12 shots in all, from start to finish the entire show took four weeks.
